Beta Theta Pi

Beta Theta Pi has been on the UBC campus since 1936, and has had 9 Rhode Scholars to our Gamma Omicron Chapter alone, including past Prime Minister John Turner. Beta is also the only Greek organization on campus that owns its own land, allowing for an increased pride in our house and chapter. With the added benefit of fewer restrictions it also enables us to host both the largest open parties and house parties on campus.

Beta has long been the most athletically decorated fraternity on campus: capturing the IFC Sports Trophy almost fifty-percent of the time over the last 60+ years. We are also known for our chapter involvement in UBC Varsity Athletics, with Varsity Athletes in Rugby, Hockey, Track & Field and Rowing in both the past and present. Our signature annual philanthropic event is called the Beta Strongman Competition from which all proceeds are donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.

In Beta Theta Pi you will find a network of like-minded individuals in whom you can trust and rely. We have strong relations with our alumni, of which 90% live and work in the Greater Vancouver area and play an active role in the development of our Chapter. We are more than a labelled organization, we are a brotherhood, one with the opportunity to create the friendships to last you a life time. For the motto of Beta Theta PI is truly what we try to live out, “making good men better.”
